A couple of months ago, as a Christmas present to myself I invested in a Cambo wide 5x4 large format camera, to accompany me on my upcoming trip to the Far East. To ensure I do the camera justice i've spent alot of time doing "research and development" with B&w and slide film.
Its been great finding new places and getting back to analogue photography. The downside is the lack of darkroom. I could develop the film without but prefer to do it properly. This has meant waiting until next week to see if the last months work has been fruitful. One positive is the digital shots shown here. I don't take my digital slr with me when I shoot analogue as i don't want to get distracted, but I will revisit a site if it ticks all the boxes.
These images were taken using the Canon 5D MKII with the 24mm Tilt Shift. The panoramics were taken as 3 individual shots using the shift and stiched.
The longer I photograph the more I learn and the more I appreciate the quality of good light. The most important aspect to good light is.... to make sure your out photographing it!
